I am always on the lookout for things that are not standard, run of the mill, ‘you see it everywhere’ decor items.
This piece caught my eye at Bombay, where you can often find interesting things at very reasonable prices.
This is a large colourful piece of art that could be hung on the wall or set in a stand as seen in the store. It is 40″ x 40″. It has a thick, dark frame which is beautifully in proportion to the size of the wood block tiles and the piece itself. The tiles are all the same size but are various thicknesses to create a lot of texture and are finished to a high gloss. The large variety of colours allows it to accentuate many different decors.
This piece could sit on, or be hung above a sideboard/buffet in the dining room or the mantle shelf as an eyecatching statement in the living room. It could brighten up a dark hallway when placed above a console table or at the head of a staircase. Use your imagination!
